Seedance 2.5 in ArtCraft: What We Know and How to Use It
ArtCraft is advertising Seedance 2.5 on its homepage, but the official model catalog hasn't caught up yet. Here is the current status, what changed from Seedance 2.0, and how to use it well.
By ArtCraft Tips Editorial TeamLast updated 6 min read
Seedance 2.5 is ByteDance's newest AI video model, and ArtCraft has started promoting it: "Seedance 2.5" now sits at the top of the feature ticker on the official ArtCraft homepage. Search interest is climbing, but there is very little written about using it inside ArtCraft. This page collects what is confirmed, what isn't yet, and how to get good results.

Is Seedance 2.5 available in ArtCraft?
Here is where each official source stood on October 11, 2026:
| Official source | What it says |
|---|---|
| ArtCraft homepage (getartcraft.com) | Lists Seedance 2.5 first in its highlights ticker |
| GitHub README model catalog | Newest Seedance model is Seedance 2.0 (with 1.5 Pro, and 1.0 Lite marked disabled) |
| Pricing page | Credit estimates cover Seedance 2.0 only |
| Latest release | v0.41.0, published September 26, 2026 |
The practical answer
Marketing pages often move ahead of the README. Install the latest version or open the web app and look in the video model picker. If Seedance 2.5 is listed, it works like any other video model in ArtCraft. If not, Seedance 2.0 is the closest option today. We will update this page when the catalog changes, and our model catalog syncs with the README daily.
What Seedance 2.5 can do
ByteDance's Seed team launched Seedance 2.5 on July 31, 2026. It builds on Seedance 2.0's joint audio-video architecture and focuses on three things:
- 30-second clips in one pass. Single-pass generation goes from 15 to 30 seconds, and clips can be extended over several rounds while keeping the characters, scene, and pacing consistent. ByteDance says this makes multi-minute pieces possible "in one take."
- Much richer references. One request can include up to 30 images, 10 video clips, and 10 audio clips. ByteDance also strengthened clay render, motion, and creative references.
- Precise editing. Timestamp-level control lets you direct what happens in each time range during generation, and change specific clips afterward. Green screen, camera perspective, and reference-based edits are improved too.
Audio is generated together with the picture, so sound effects, music, and lip-synced dialogue come out in sync, without a separate audio pass.
Seedance 2.5 vs Seedance 2.0
| Seedance 2.0 | Seedance 2.5 | |
|---|---|---|
| Length per generation | Up to 15 seconds | Up to 30 seconds, plus multi-round extension |
| References per request | Up to 9 images, 3 videos, 3 audio clips | Up to 30 images, 10 videos, 10 audio clips |
| Native audio | Yes | Yes |
| Reference types | Image, video, and audio references | Strengthened clay render (3D blockout), motion, and creative references |
| Editing | Reference-based editing and extension | Timestamp-level edits, improved green screen and camera-perspective edits |
| In ArtCraft's README catalog | Yes | Not yet (homepage only) |
Resolution depends on the provider. fal offers Seedance 2.5 at 480p and 720p, in aspect ratios from 21:9 to 9:16, at any length from 4 to 30 seconds; ByteDance's own BytePlus platform also lists 1080p.
Why Seedance 2.5 suits ArtCraft's way of working
The most interesting upgrade for ArtCraft users is clay render referencing. In ByteDance's words, you "build a scene's spatial structure, character poses, motion paths, and camera angles using textureless 3D models," and the model generates video that follows that blocking, including physically plausible lighting.
That is the same idea ArtCraft is built around: block the scene in 3D first, then let a model render it.

We have not confirmed whether ArtCraft passes its 3D scenes to Seedance 2.5 as clay render references. The reliable route in ArtCraft today is the one it was designed for: stage the shot in 3D, render a first frame, then animate it. The 3D compositing tutorial and character posing tutorial cover the staging part.
How to use Seedance 2.5 in ArtCraft
Update ArtCraft
New models arrive with new releases. Download the latest build from the download guide, or use the web app at app.getartcraft.com, which is always current.
Check credits or connect a provider
Seedance runs on ArtCraft credits on paid plans. A 30-second Seedance 2.5 clip is a big generation, so check your balance first. See the pricing guide.
Design the first frame
Build the opening shot with ArtCraft's image tools: set the location, pose the characters, frame the camera, and render a still. A strong first frame matters even more over 30 seconds, because every later shot inherits its look.
Pick Seedance 2.5 in the Video tool
Open Video, load your first frame, and choose Seedance 2.5 from the model list. If it is not there yet, use Seedance 2.0 and keep clips to 15 seconds or less.
Write a timed prompt
For long clips, split the prompt into time ranges (see below). Put any spoken lines in double quotes.
Draft short, then go long
Test the motion with a short clip first. Only generate the full 30 seconds once the action and camera look right.
Prompt tips for Seedance 2.5
Write in time ranges. ByteDance's own examples split long prompts into segments, which matches the model's timestamp-level control:
16:9, cinematic, single continuous take, no cuts.
0-8s: slow push-in on the lighthouse keeper climbing the spiral stairs, lantern swinging.
8-18s: he reaches the lamp room and looks out at the storm; camera arcs around him.
18-30s: pull back through the window to a wide shot of the lighthouse in the rain,
waves crashing below, the beam sweeping across the sea.
Give the story a shape. Seedance 2.5 is built to stage setup, development, a turning point, and a resolution within one clip, not just stretch one moment. Describe what changes over the 30 seconds.
Quote the dialogue. Providers that document the model ask for spoken lines in double quotes, for example: She whispers, "We're not alone." The audio is generated in sync with the lips.
Say what must stay the same. For extensions, ask the model to keep the characters, scene, visual style, and sound consistent with the previous clip.
Expect limits. ByteDance notes there is still room to improve the physics of complex motion and scenes where several subjects interact. Keep fights, dances with contact, and crowded action short.
More motion prompts are in the video prompt library, and the Seedance 2.0 guide has camera-move vocabulary that works for both versions.
What Seedance 2.5 will cost
ArtCraft has not published Seedance 2.5 credit estimates yet. Two reference points help with budgeting:
| Reference | Price |
|---|---|
| Seedance 2.0 in ArtCraft (Basic plan estimate) | ~63 seconds per 1,000 credits (~16 credits per second) |
| Seedance 2.5 on fal, 16:9 at 720p | ~$0.47 per second, audio included |
| Seedance 2.5 on fal, 16:9 at 480p | ~$0.22 per second, audio included |
At fal's 720p rate, a single 30-second clip costs about $14 in raw model fees. Whatever ArtCraft charges, budget for Seedance 2.5 to cost at least as much per second as Seedance 2.0, and draft at lower settings before committing to a full-length render.
Where else Seedance 2.5 is available
ByteDance first rolled the model out in its own apps, Jimeng AI and Doubao Pro, with API access through BytePlus ModelArk. It has since appeared on developer platforms such as fal, Replicate, and Vercel AI Gateway, and on creative platforms including Magnific (formerly Freepik). See our ArtCraft vs Magnific comparison if you are weighing a subscription there against ArtCraft.
