Google Veo in ArtCraft: Veo 3.1, Fast, and Lite Compared
ArtCraft offers four working Veo models, from the full Veo 3.1 to the budget Lite version. Here is how they compare and how to prompt them.

Veo is Google DeepMind's family of AI video models. The Veo 3 generation is known for realistic physics, strong prompt adherence, and the ability to generate sound along with the picture. ArtCraft lists six Veo versions, four of which are currently switched on.

Veo 3.1 vs Fast vs Lite
| Model | Best for | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Veo 3.1 | Final shots where quality matters most | Highest cost per second |
| Veo 3.1 Fast | Iterating on motion and timing | Slightly less detail |
| Veo 3.1 Lite | Cheap drafts and storyboard animatics | Lowest quality of the three |
| Veo 3 Fast | An older fast model, useful for comparison | Superseded by Veo 3.1 Fast |
ArtCraft doesn't publish per-second credit estimates for Veo, so check the cost shown in the app. A sensible pattern is to test with Lite or Fast and render the keeper with Veo 3.1.
Prompting Veo
Veo follows detailed prompts well. Describe the action, camera, lighting, and, if audio is available, the sound:
A street musician plays a saxophone under a bridge at night, rain dripping
from the edges, slow dolly-in from a wide shot to a medium close-up,
neon reflections on wet pavement. Audio: warm saxophone melody, light rain.
Tips:
- Use film language. Veo understands shot types and camera moves: wide establishing shot, dolly-in, crane up, handheld, rack focus.
- Describe physics. Veo is good with water, cloth, smoke, and hair. Mentioning them gives it something to show off.
- Animate a staged first frame. As with other video models in ArtCraft, building the opening frame first gives far more control than text alone. Image to Location keeps the set consistent across shots; see the Image to Location tutorial.
- Keep clips short. Generate several short clips and edit them together rather than forcing one long take.

Frequently asked questions
Which Veo models are available in ArtCraft?
At the time of writing, ArtCraft's README lists Veo 3 Fast, Veo 3.1, Veo 3.1 Fast, and Veo 3.1 Lite as available. Veo 2 and Veo 3 are marked as disabled.
Does Veo generate sound in ArtCraft?
Google's Veo 3 generation of models can generate audio together with video. Whether audio is offered for a particular model depends on the options ArtCraft shows for it in the video tool.
What is the difference between Veo 3.1, Fast, and Lite?
Veo 3.1 is Google's full-quality model. Fast trades some quality for speed and lower cost, and Lite is the most economical option, suited for drafts and testing motion.
